We find the duo format to be unique. It’s an expansion of the solo format, adding another musician to create a common expression with more potential for juxtaposing contrasts as well as introducing the power of unison playing. The flexibility of the duo format is ideal for maneuvering the music in surprising directions. There are no words, no movements, only sounds of music.

The music of the Nordeson Shelton Duo is freely improvised, and investigates the dynamic created by our two instruments and our musical sensibilities.

A CD production is planned for early 2011. The release will be on Singlespeed Music.
